An integrated design Grip for the Leica M8 Digital camera! The MD-Grip® is the first independently designed Grip offered for the M8 Leica Digital. Its design integrates smoothly with the rest of the camera. Machined in one piece from a solid billet of high strength aircraft alloy aluminum, the MD-Grip® is shaped to fit and blend with the camera body beautifully, rather then having a clumsy looking “post” for a handle. The MD-Grip® is incorporates a full length velvet covered base plate to protect the entire bottom of the camera and provide maximum stability when placed down. The MD-Grip® has a large counter bored hole, permitting access to the camera’s back release locking toggle. Batteries and memory cards can be changed without removing The MD-Grip®. For a non-slip grasp and wonderful feel, the MD-Grip® handle has a soft rubber insert inlay, which wraps around between the Grip and the camera. The inlay provides a gentle but solid support against the camera body, without the possibility of leatherette damage. A compartment in the center of the handle, with a flush fit screw-in plug, provides the perfect place to store a micro fiber lens cleaning cloth. Remarkably, the MD-Grip® weighs in at less than 4 ounces - the result of careful design, and extensive removal of material in the base and the handle. A corrosion-free stainless steel mounting screw, with a slot large enough to fit a coin, attaches the MD-Grip® to the camera via the tripod hole. The MD-Grip® does not need to be removed for tripod use. In fact, the MD-Grip® enhances the M8 Digital during tripod use, by providing an alternate tripod hole which is centered under the lens! The MD-Grip® enhances the function of the camera, by fitting the photographer’s natural grasp. The MD-Grip® dramatically improves single-handed use, long exposure stability, and comfort with long lenses. The MD-Grip® is available in either a silver or black hard anodized satin finish.
